Well this was one of the most awaited movies for people who like different kind of cinema.Dev d a story about modern Devdas is a good adaption from the previous versions. The movie setup up in north of India brings up something new and unique as a build up to the character. The story is how a boy destroys his life for his childhood love. The darkness of the movie can be seen after he loses the girl and takes a road to utter disdain and destruction of his life.Dev meets Chanda a prostitute who also falls for his charm. Her story is completely different and well put up.The performance by all the actors is laudable and up to the mark. The camera-work and and direction is excellent and audiences will notice that after they watch the movie. The director makes a very good attempt to create a more dark ambiance once the Dev loses his love. The background score of the movie is good considering the dark ambiance.Drinks, smoke, drugs you will see all this in abundance as it leads to destruction of his life. This is not a movie for people who cant take dark films as it just leaves u a bit sapped after you watch it.Go for Dev D if you want something different from commercial cinema.I would rate the movie a 8/10 and say go for it.

Ever thought of going to a 'remake' Hindi movie and getting apprehensive whether it will turn out to be better or as good as the previous, in this case, Devdas? well, here it is. And its not a remake, its much better. The most striking feature of this movie is the part played by Abhay Deol,(guy s got talent) which is simply very subtle and practical. No overacting (unlike any other Hindi hero), no songs around mountains and valleys, no getting emotional over your love (yes, believe me). Just chronological events that takes place with three characters around. Thats it. With a gist of recent events which include the DPS girl blow-job MMS, and the famous Drink n drive BMW mauling case in New Delhi, Anurag Kashyap has proved its possible to relate recent events in Indian cinema, which it lacks today. Never once in the movie you need a toilet break even if u need to pee really bad. Even the boldness in using the words like f*** (which i guess is the first time in commercial Hindi movie)is so well mixed, it never strikes out of the ordinary or routine. Must appreciate- Screenplay, direction, Abahay Deol. Music sucks mostly,( not a very good experiment) except a few times. Overall a very good experience, will be the most appreciated movie of 2009, unless anything else comes up.
Actor Abhay Deol shared a post on Instagram this morning to celebrate 10 years of one of his critically-acclaimed films, Dev.D. In his post, he spoke about how the idea behind the 2009 dark comedy, a modern-day adaptation of Devdas, was to empower women. However, it was a hilarious comment on the post that caught our - and Abhay's - attention. Instagram user Yashu Sharma used the comments section of the post to narrate an "epic story" related to the movie.
Unfortunately for Yashu, she and her family walked into the movie theatre right in the middle of an intimate scene in the A-rated movie. "Unfortunately we got the front row and movie was already started, and we got to see the first khet ka scene (farm scene)," she wrote.
Dev.D, directed by Anurag Kashyap and starring Kalki Koechlin and Mahie Gill along with Abhay Deol, was released on February 6, 2009. In his post, Abhay said that the movie was about women power. "My idea was to empower the women in this tale, and expose the chauvinism and entitlement that Dev's character is all about," he wrote. Read his full post below:
My best friend's brother just got this new handheld iPod-like thingy. It's South Korean, has (approx) a 4-inch screen, can play 720p video and music, movies, pictures, etc. Everything that an iPod can do (plus 720p vids), but on a bigger screen. I'm in the market for a new portable media player device thingy that's not and iPod and this thing looks like it fits the bill. Only thing is, I have no idea what it is, what it's called, or where to look for it. Does anyone know of such a device, or where I could buy one? flaminglawyer 00:12, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi. Our article on 720p states that it is 1280x720 and mentions absolutely nothing about 1366x768. However, every single 720p TV I've seen advertised in South Africa has a resolution of 1366. Actually to be more accurate, they are always advertised as "HD Ready" rather than 720p. Similarly, 1080p TV's are advertised as "Full HD". Now at the moment we still don't have digital broadcasting although it WILL come in time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Not sure if it wll be 720 or 1080.
I'm looking to get an "HD Ready" LCD for gaming (Xbox360) and watching TV series via PC. So in light of all this, is there anything to be concerned about? If any of these sources are coming from a 720p signal, stretching it to 1366 would probably look terrible given how close the ratios are. On another note, I've noticed that most graphics cards (including the onboard graphics on my PC) only support 1360x768 as a standard resolution. What would happen to the extra 6 pixels? Will the display from the PC look absolutely horrible (trying to stretch itself horizontally)?
I have a friend who has a problem with her IBM Laptop. I haven't seen the laptop yet, so I don't knwo what type it is, but she says it is only two or three years old. She has also informed me that she uses a P2P software to download music, so I believe that it must be an adware/spyware/malware problem. I have told her I will try to fix it tomorrow, but in order to do so, I may need to get software that I can put on a USB to run on her system, without the huge start-up time (in excess of 20 minutes). What I want to do is get the computer to run as fast as possible so I can install the anti-spyware and anti-adware, as well as software to deal with the malware that may be present. I am doing this for free, so I don't want to have to burn a disk (which I would have to go and buy), so USB is the only option. Does anyone have any ideas here?--KageTora (talk) 15:46, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
To log on to root, just type the word root in place of your user ID. And, you must know the root password which you should type in the password field. And, to delete the virus, you can delete the account of UserA from the root with all his/her documents from root. This will delete the virus too. If still the problem exists, then you should check out -scanners.html for downloading virus scanners for Linux. You may have heard of I love You virus of 2000-2001, which infected hundreds of Windows Computers, but not a single Linux Computer was infected. But still, gradually, the Kaspersky Lab has stated that there are still yet 800 malwares for Linux. So, we should better take care. Again, let me give you some more information. In 1997, a virus called Bliss was made which wasprimarily targeted to Linux. But the result was zero. So, don't worry, Linux is very secure. Although I am an admirer of Windows XP than that of Linux, still I appreciate the tough security of Linux-based Computers in general. You see those as the spikes on the single day, with bandwidth well more than 10 Mbps.In practice 25 Mbps connections are adequate, however.Increasing downstream bandwidth improves download speeds.Increasing upstream bandwidth allows for more simultaneous upstream links on the connection.
This would only be valid for content originaly shot at a native 4K resolution. Also movies shot on film will need to be rescanned and restored at 4K resolution. There is no point of re-encoding content that is not native 4K or better, because the Apple TV (to be) will do that job anyway.
I think it depends on how they label and sell 4K. For example if you buy an SD version of a movie, you have to buy it again in HD if you want it. On the other hand, all HD purchases were upgraded from 720p to 1080p when the HD resolution was change in iTunes.
I recently bought a 4K TV on black Friday so, yes, it does matter to me. Is hard to switch back to 1080p after watching those gorgeous graphics in movies and tv series. My smart TV has youtube and netflix, both support and broadcast content in 4K, a beautiful thing; even another reason to skip Apple TV 4th gen. I will settle with my 3rd gen until then. I guess Apple loves to crash into parties very late.
It needs time. Like I said before many 4K sets include a hard drive with 4K shows and movies. No 4K Blu Ray are out now. For the price of 4K sets yes most people should purchase one for the small difference between it and a smart tv. They have t wait for the connect though.
The funny thing is that HD is still relative. Most local broadcasters still only broadcast in 720p, even after all this time, because the cost to upgrade to 1080p is prohibitive, especially for such a (relatively) small difference in picture quality. 2ff7e9595c
